Who We Are!

Pic Nic is the world’s first all-comics free-press magazine, made by the artist collective Superamici and the communication agency xister.

The magazine will be distributed every two months, and each issue will be composed of three comic books collected in a cardboard box.

The three comic books, which sum up to 150 pages of comics, are separated by theme: one regarding humouristic comics (the Ahah section), another one regarding action comics (Bang) and a third one regarding more graphic-novel-oriented literary comics (Mumble).The stories contained differ in length and will be developed in episodes of a longer serial span, or else into short self-conclusive narrations.

To complete the magazine’s structure, brief editorials will guide the reader and help him step into Pic Nic’s imagery, while articles, interviews and previews will act as a support for a better understanding of the authors and their stories.

The project’s purpose is to make an interaction between the language of comics and the one of commercial communication, in order to reach a larger public (due to a high-quality production, a free distribution and a high number of copies pressed -20.000 copies in the first print- otherwise unattainable for the traditional comics editorial system, and instead here allowed by the presence of advertising inserts), with a more direct ‘pop’ approach, thus managing to bring the world of comics to a much wider audience of new readers.
